A new garden in Maindee will transform a prominent and unloved site at the Wharf Road / Chepstow Road junction into a beautiful gateway garden
RHS Malvern Garden coming to Maindee in 2025
A designer garden at this year's RHS Spring Festival in Malvern will be installed after the show in its permanent home in Maindee. The Greening Maindee team was approached last year by award winning garden designer, Emily Crowley Rowe. Emily wondered in the team wanted to collaborate on a design. They did! - and in December 2024 the team heard that Emily's design had been approved by the RHS selection panel. A team of landscapers will have a week to create the show garden in Malvern. Once the show has finished the garden will be transported to its permanent home on a pre prepared plot at the junction of Wharf Road and Chepstow Road. The muddy path that currently cuts through the site to Wharf Lane will be properly surfaced and surrounded by small trees, seating areas and contemporary plantings. To complete the setting, the garden will be backed by a wildlife mural by Andy O'Rourke. Greening Maindee's John Stone is delighted "We are thrilled that the garden is coming to Maindee. Everyone will be able to enjoy it for years to come right here in the heart of the community".
