Pride in Place money for Maindee

Newport City Council announced on 4th February 2026 that Maindee District Centre is going to be part of a £20,000,000 investment from the UK Goverment's Pride in Place programme.
Alison Starling, Chairperson of Maindee Unlimited, was delighted with the news. "Businesses on Chepstow Road really need a boost. This is coming at a great time. We are raring to go." She added that "Maindee is often overlooked when it comes to regeneration money so we need to make sure we get a decent slice of the cake this time". Not loads of detail at the moment but this has to be good news.
