Welcome to Maindee Festival!'

Missed this year's Street Party and Maindee Music Festival?
Still one pop up left !

Save the date - Saturday 24th September as we support Living Green Fayre at Maindee Primary School!

Newport’s first outdoor celebration of the circular economy, takes place between 12pm-4pm.

If you’re interested in the world of reusing, recycling, and sharing from garden tools to food, or you want to find out more about what’s going in Newport sustainability-wise, then this is the event for you.

There’ll be loads of green activities to try out including making homemade toiletries and play dough, to upcycling clothes and furniture. You can bring electrical items to be repaired at our repair shop, recycle your clothes at our clothes swap, and find out about local nappy libraries, party costume libraries, and where to go to borrow tools from.

There’ll be talks from some inspiring innovators and entrepreneurs on upcycling, recycling, how to reduce waste, plus poetry, spoken word, arts and crafts and music .

The Green Fayre will also host the city’s annual peace event to mark the United Nations International Peace Day on September 21st.

There’ll be the opportunity to view and comment on plans to ‘ green up’ Chepstow Road and turn the car park into an attractive leisure space while still retaining it’s existing parking bays. View the plans in the morning alongside Maindee’s new pop up garden or during the afternoon at the fayre site.

To find out how you can get involved please contact festival@maindee.org or text/phone Alison at 07925 436903.
