Community House- followed by a visit to St Mary's Community Garden

Monday 25 February - Create a Spring Garden Event 2-5pm

It's half term holidays and spring is about to blossom, a perfect time to join us for an afternoon event on nature, well-being and get involved in planting a spring garden.

We start the event at Community House (Eton Road) for a talk on why nature is good for our health and well-being, followed by some refreshments.  We will then take a short walk to St Mary's Community Garden to get our hands dirty planting shrubs, perrenials and bulbs in our newly created community garden.

Work has begun to transform this previously unloved green space on the corner of Wharf Road and Corporation Road.  With financial support from the People’s Health Trust, Maindee Unlimited is creating ‘St Mary’s Community Garden’. A vibrant communal garden with raised beds, ornamental planting, paths, seating and hedging for everyone to enjoy.

Work is underway to improve many of the green spaces in Maindee. If you would like to volunteer, meet like-minded people and learn new skills then please get in touch, we'd love to hear from you!
