The Cougar is a distinctive and original band on the world music scene. Based in Cardiff, the band reflect multlicultural South Wales in their diverse music - an exciting fusion of original Caribbean, African and Latin melodies and rhythms, composed and arranged by Victor Frederick, a native of the Island of St Kitts in the Caribbean.

Tony and Wayne are the Cougar's drum and bass Barbadian backbone. Victor creates melodies on the guitar and provides lead vocals. Marco Antonio from Andalucia produces the percussion to create movement. Steve from Canada and N Wales add flute harmonies.

The Cougar works to move people's feet and bodies. "We require people to swing to our music. The blend of rhythms and melodies aim to push one dynamic core movement to create an irresistible dance", says Marco .
